Joe’s Mexican Food is a no-frills Mexican fast-food spot tucked along Sierra Avenue in Fontana, known for its straightforward menu and consistently fresh flavors. This isn’t a sit-down restaurant—orders are placed and picked up at an outdoor window, making it perfect for a quick lunch or dinner on the go, especially if you’re passing through or want a satisfying bite without fuss.

The focus here is on hearty, classic Mexican staples like burritos loaded with fillings such as chile verde, carne asada, or shredded beef. The burritos come large, often enough to share or take part home, and extras like chile verde fries with cheese add a comforting, indulgent twist. The carne asada is notably lean and grilled well, while the shredded beef stands out for its tender texture and depth of flavor—both hallmarks of what keeps locals coming back.

The crowd at Joe’s tends to include regulars who appreciate quick service without compromising quality. Staff are known for being friendly and attentive, aiming to get orders out promptly. The setup is simple, with no indoor seating, so it’s best suited for takeout or eating in a car or nearby park on a sunny day. This makes it less about dining ambiance and more about practical, solid Mexican fare when you want something filling and authentic.

Joe’s offers a familiar taste of Latin American street food-style Mexican cooking, best enjoyed by those who want a dependable, flavor-forward meal without the formalities of a restaurant setting. Midday or early evening visits work well, especially if you want to avoid peak lunch rush crowds. If you’re looking for a casual spot where locals stop by for quick meals or late afternoon cravings, Joe’s delivers that straightforward comfort with a hometown feel.

I must say I never write reviews, but today I decided to make this place a 5 star review because every time I come here the food is always fresh no matter what time of the day it is, on top of that its being served deliciously. The ladies that work here are always very pleasant, sweet and most of all making sure customers are satisfied and orders are always quick portions will definitely get the entire family full. Thank you taco Joes for blessing the community with great integrity & keeping prices low while everything around is so expensive

I haven’t been to this place in over 25 yrs. Saw a critique about it somewhere? I decided to try it again after all these years. It was just like I remember all those years ago. Great food and great service.

Haven't been since I moved about 15 years ago. Was in the area, and my wife and I stopped and had lunch. Carne asada fries and the three asada taco plate were still as delicious as I remember and very affordable. Thank you for the amazing food!

Great food. I had a carne asada burrito with beans and my wife has the Joe's burrito with shredded beef, enchilada style. The carne asada was lean, not fatty. And the shredded beef was some of the best around. Definitely recommend.

Joe's is the place to go in Fontana for Mexican fast food. Ordering and pickup are outside at the window. I had the Joe's shredded beef burrito, or you can pick your kind of meat. ($11.25) it was a large burrito and I could not finish it. The burrito is the most expensive thing on the menu. All their combination plates are less than $10. There's no indoor seating that i saw so I guess it's all outside. There are some glass doors next door that say private and are tinted so I gather that's their storage area.

Absolutely delicious! (They only take cash though!!) I drove all the way from Lake Elsinore twice this month. An hour drive, to buy these delicious cheap affordable burritos. Even for meat plus a chili relleno, rice beans and cheese is still the same price of $11. Most places will charge you extra, over $16 for making it like Joes! And they are fast! LOVE THIS PLACE. Try it! Chili verde or Chili Colorado with a Chili Relleno inside is a GO TO.
